East Bank Trail

The City of Milwaukee obtained easements from landowners when the North Avenue dam was removed (1997), which allowed construction of the next link in the Beerline Loop, connecting Caesar’s Park to Riverside Park.

In partnership with Milwaukee County Parks, the trail was built in 2006 for $225,000, funded in part by the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program, Bader Philanthropies, Forest County Potawatomi Foundation, and many other donors who are recognized on our turtle sculptures (created by Marina Lee, Beginning Dreams Forever) located at each end of the trail. This rustic riverside trail meandering through the valley has been designated a National Recreation Trail by the National Park Service!
